John Stossel

So the other day the class took a trip to go and see John Stossel as he spoke in the Montante Cultural Center at Canisius College. His speech was thought provoking and made one think about the good that big business and competition have in our every day life. His talk went on to further talk about how rules and regulations actually harm the consumer. His speech was not totally one sided it did cover how and why the rules were set in place, but he did say that things were getting out of hand and pointed out examples in a wide assortment of fields; everything from vaccines to agriculture is affected by government regulation and competition. The system according to John Stossel is self regulating, and should be allowed to run it's course. If given the opportunity to see him, do so... you wouldn't want to miss it.
